For a long time, I relied on astrology books. But there was always a sense that something was missing.
So I put the books down and turned to nature… not to study it, but to be in it. And over time, something began to shift.
One night, sitting in a cedar grove beneath a blanket of stars, beside a babbling creek moving through the darkness… everything changed.
The fire in front of me lit up the trees and the forest floor, while the sound of the creek, the insects, and the crackling fire filled the space around me. The scent of cedar and smoke moved through the cool night air.
Everything was alive. Everything was speaking.
And in that moment, I realized nothing was missing from astrology… only our connection to its origins.
The living stories of the signs, planets, and houses revealed themselves—not as ideas, but as something I could see, feel, and recognize all around me.
Nature became the teacher, and astrology became something I could work with through my own senses.
That moment became the seed that would grow into what is now the School of Living Astrology.

Hey, I’m Tyler. I’m the founder of the School of Living Astrology, and you’re probably wondering who I am and what this approach to astrology is really based on.
I’ve been working with astrology for over 25 years. Early on, I followed the traditional path of studying charts, meanings, and interpretations. But over time, something started to feel off. It felt disconnected from real life, like something important was missing.
That led me to step away from the books and turn to nature. Not to study it, but to experience it.
Through that shift, I began to see that astrology wasn’t meant to be something you memorize or interpret. It’s something you can observe, experience, and come to understand through the patterns of life itself.
That became the foundation for what I now call Living Astrology.
For the past several years, I’ve been teaching this approach to students around the world through the School of Living Astrology. My focus is to help people move beyond memorization and into a direct relationship with astrology through nature, the elements, and their own lived experience.
In my teaching, I integrate storytelling, observation, and reflection to help you develop a way of seeing that becomes clear over time.
I also work with clients in private consultations, using the birth chart as a tool for clarity, self-awareness, and working with the patterns shaping their lives.
I live in Washington State with my wife, Mamie, an herbalist, and our three children, Aurora, Asa, and Eliana.
Much of what I share comes from time spent in nature, and from a deep respect for the lessons found in the elements, the land, and the cycles of life.
My hope is to share this way of working with astrology with you, so you can begin to experience it for yourself.
